Warmth and sun have been late in coming this year but hopefully June, July and August will make up for the relatively poor start.
The houses have been full since the beginning of April and judging by the comments, guests have enjoyed both staying with us and also exploring the island. We tend to take the scenery, the environment, the peace and island traditions for granted so it does us good to be reminded that the Outer Hebrides are still that bit different.
Bookings for Ullabhal and Cleiseabhal are excellent and once again demand is well in excess of supply for self-catering accommodation throughout Harris.
The first available dates are now in August. We still have one house available for weeks commencing August 21st and 28th. July and August are usually the last to fill each year and the only explanation we can give is that since we only take couples, they tend to avoid the traditional school holidays.
In September we have availability only for the week commencing Saturday, 18th.
Harris however, even if all the accommodation is booked, remains a place where there are many corners of absolute peace and quiet in the height of summer.
